Chris Wood has been a community organizer for 35 years with a variety of nonprofit organizations representing the arts, agriculture, politics and community development. He is a founder, co-founder or first director of such nonprofits as Rural Vermont, Focus on Film (Green Mountain Film Festival), Vermont Community Loan Fund, Vermont Community Reinvestment Association, Vermont Resource Cooperative, Onion River Arts Council, Vermont Consumers' Campaign for Health, Studio Place Arts, Gross National Happiness USA, Vermont Jobs with Justice and, most recently, BALE (Building A Local Economy) where he is Director. He has managed a food cooperative and co-founded a successful Montpelier restaurant. He has also served on many nonprofit boards. When he can get outside, find him hiking the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire.
